The Highlands Course Information
A Links Experience with Texas Flair
At first sight, the Highlands Course offers a links golf experience, but you’ll soon discover the open tumbling fairways and impressive elevations are more typical of a Texas Hill Country course. Throughout your round, 6,954 yards from the tips, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the city. A breathtaking panorama that includes Houston’s Galleria area to the Medical Center, NRG Stadium to Downtown. Players beware, stay focused, every hole on the Highlands course offers a challenge. Protected by well-placed bunkers lying beyond deep ravines, each tee shot demands your full attention. Course management and proper club selection are key factors in order to avoid discovering an errant shot is held captive by native grasses, or lost to a miscalculation of distance.
To ensure optimal playing surfaces, Wildcat provides golfers with only the finest turf grasses: TifSport Bermuda covers the fairways and roughs; TifEagle Bermuda yields smooth, consistent greens. Renowned architect Roy Case has combined playability with exciting challenges to provide golfers a delightful golf experience regardless of skill level.
Rated 8.8 out of 10 by TexasOutside.com
Our Highlands course recently received an excellent 8.8 out of 10 rating from “Texas Outside.com.” Here are a few excerpts from the review:
“The Highlands Course will test your game and course management skills thanks to lots of forced carries, elevation changes, blind shots, wind, dog legs and strategically placed bunkers. And the panoramic views of the surrounding country, the downtown Houston skyline, the upscale Galleria shopping area, and Reliant Stadium, which is Houston’s sport complex, are stunning.”
“…the fairways were in very good condition and the rough was thick and challenging.”
“…greens were also in very good condition – fast, smooth, and true. They ranged in size from small to about average, most are guarded, some are raised, and all have some slope and contour.”
“Bottom line – if you’re in Houston, Wildcat Golf Club is a must play and make sure you play both courses.” – Texas Outside. Check out the entire review HERE.
